What to expect
No one can promise a trial will help you personally — that is what the research is trying to find out.
What participation involves
- Procedures mentioned: MRI scans, Questionnaires
Only what the study's summary and detailed description on ClinicalTrials.gov say. Time periods may describe the whole study or a part of it — ask the study team what applies to you.
Show the study's own words
- "This research is being done to determine the safety and feasibility of using a type of radiation guided by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and chemotherapy to treat patients with gastric and breast cancer."
- "This is a master clinical protocol evaluating magnetic resonance (MR) image guided radiation in patients with gastric and breast cancer."
- "In this research study, the investigators are researching if getting an MRI during radiation is a feasible way to delivery radiation."
- "In this research study, a MRI done during treatment will help doctors adapt the radiation to target the most precise spot where the cancer is located."
- "The research study procedures include: * Screening for eligibility * Study treatment including evaluations * Follow up visits * Questionnaires This is a Phase I/II clinical trial."
- Compensation
- Not stated
- Study-related exams and procedures are typically provided at no cost. This is how many trials work in general — confirm the details for this study with the study team.
- Participants are monitored closely by the research team throughout the study.
- Some participants may receive access to an investigational treatment, which is still being studied.
- Your participation helps researchers learn whether this approach could help future patients.
About this study
In plain language
This study tests whether MRI-guided radiation and chemotherapy are safe and practical for adults with stomach or breast cancer. It uses a radiation machine called the MRIdian Linear Accelerator.
This research is being done to determine the safety and feasibility of using a type of radiation guided by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and chemotherapy to treat patients with gastric and breast cancer. The name of the radiation machine involved in this study is the MRIdian Linear Accelerator.
Compensation is read from the study's own description and may be missing — always confirm with the study team.
Eligibility
Who can join
- You are 18 or older.
- A tissue or cell test shows that you have cancer that needs radiation.
- You can care for yourself for at least some daily needs, though you may need help.
- You can understand the study and agree to sign a consent form.
- You meet any other rules for your cancer group in the study.
Who can't join
- You have had an allergic reaction to gadolinium, a dye given through a vein for MRI scans. This rule does not apply if you will not get the dye; in that case, kidney function also does not affect whether you can join.
- You have severe fear of tight spaces or severe anxiety.
- You cannot have an MRI scan.
- You meet any other rules that keep people in your cancer group from joining.
Simplified for readability. The official criteria below are what the study team uses.
Official eligibility criteria
Inclusion Criteria: * Participants must have histologically or cytologically confirmed malignancy requiring radiation * Age 18 years of older * ECOG performance status ≤2 (Karnofsky ≥60%, see Appendix A) * Ability to understand and the willingness to sign a written informed consent document. * Any further criteria listed in the specific disease site cohort Exclusion Criteria * History of allergic reactions attributed to gadolinium-based IV contrast \-- Note: If patient will not receive contrast, this is not applicable and kidney function will not affect eligibility * Severe claustrophobia or anxiety * Participants who cannot undergo an MRI * Any other exclusion criteria listed in the specific disease site cohort
