What to expect
No one can promise a trial will help you personally — that is what the research is trying to find out.
What participation involves
- Procedures mentioned: Blood draws, Biopsies
Only what the study's summary and detailed description on ClinicalTrials.gov say. Time periods may describe the whole study or a part of it — ask the study team what applies to you.
Show the study's own words
- "Biopsy and blood samples will be collected before and during treatment and undergo molecular profiling to assess for deucravacitinib-corrected signatures."
- Compensation
- Not stated
- Study-related exams and procedures are typically provided at no cost. This is how many trials work in general — confirm the details for this study with the study team.
- Participants are monitored closely by the research team throughout the study.
- Some participants may receive access to an investigational treatment, which is still being studied.
- Your participation helps researchers learn whether this approach could help future patients.
About this study
In plain language
This study looks at how immune cells in the skin and blood work before and after treatment with deucravacitinib. This drug blocks TYK2, a protein involved in the immune system. The study is for adults with moderate to severe psoriasis.
This study aims to assess cutaneous and blood immune cell function of patients with psoriasis before and after initiation of treatment with the Tyrosine kinase 2 (TYK2) blocker, deucravacitinib.
Compensation is read from the study's own description and may be missing — always confirm with the study team.
Eligibility
Who can join
- You are 18 or older.
- You have moderate to severe psoriasis covering at least 10% of your body, with a PASI score of at least 12 and an sPGA score of at least 3. These scores measure how severe your psoriasis is.
Who can't join
- You took medicine that weakens the immune system throughout the body in the past 12 weeks.
- You are pregnant.
- You have a very weak immune system due to a genetic condition or an infection.
- You have tuberculosis (TB) or another serious infection that is active.
- You currently have cancer affecting the body as a whole.
- You are breastfeeding.
- The study doctor believes you have a condition or unusual test finding that could make the study unsafe for you or affect the quality of the study data.
Simplified for readability. The official criteria below are what the study team uses.
Official eligibility criteria
Inclusion Criteria: 1. 18 years of age or older 2. Patients with moderate-severe psoriasis (BSA \>= 10%, PASI \>=12, static Physician's Global Assessment (sPGA) 3 and above) Exclusion Criteria: 1. taking systemic immunosuppressives in the last 12 weeks 2. pregnancy 3. severe immunodeficiency (either from genetic or infectious causes). 4. tuberculosis or other active serious infection 5. active systemic malignancy. 6. breast-feeding 7.
