What to expect

No one can promise a trial will help you personally — that is what the research is trying to find out.

What participation involves

  • Procedures mentioned: Biopsies, Blood draws

Only what the study's summary and detailed description on ClinicalTrials.gov say. Time periods may describe the whole study or a part of it — ask the study team what applies to you.

Show the study's own words
  • "This study proposes developing an innovative liquid biopsy test tailored for AAs and CRC to address this."
  • "This test would optimize patient compliance and resource allocation by detecting both conditions from a single blood draw."
  • "This study will develop a non-invasive blood test for AA and CRC in four phases: 1."
Compensation
Not stated
  • Study-related exams and procedures are typically provided at no cost. This is how many trials work in general — confirm the details for this study with the study team.
  • Participants are monitored closely by the research team throughout the study.
  • Some participants may receive access to an investigational treatment, which is still being studied.
  • Your participation helps researchers learn whether this approach could help future patients.

About this study

In plain language

This study aims to develop an accurate, low-cost blood test to find colon and rectal cancer and adenomas early. Adenomas are growths that may turn into cancer. The study is for people who have had a colonoscopy when their blood is collected.

This study aims to develop a highly sensitive, specific, and cost-effective blood assay for early detection of colorectal adenomas and cancer, using advanced machine learning and state-of-the-art biological analyses.

Compensation is read from the study's own description and may be missing — always confirm with the study team.

Eligibility

Who can join

  • Have had a colonoscopy when blood is collected. This test uses a camera to look inside the colon and rectum.
  • Have had the usual tests required by local guidelines to diagnose the condition and, if needed, check how far it has spread.
  • Have at least one sample collected before any treatment meant to cure the condition.
  • Have had standard tissue checks and camera exams to confirm the diagnosis and decide which study group to join.

Who can't join

  • Have an inherited condition linked to colon or rectal cancer, confirmed by genetic testing.
  • Have inflammatory bowel disease, which causes ongoing swelling in the gut.
  • Have not given written consent to take part.

Simplified for readability. The official criteria below are what the study team uses.

Official eligibility criteria

Inclusion Criteria: * All individuals included in the study need to have had a colonoscopy at the time of blood sampling. * Received standard diagnostic and staging (as necessary) procedures as per local guidelines, and at least one sample was drawn before receiving any curative-intent treatment. * Received standard pathological and endoscopic diagnosis and assessment for cohort assignment. Exclusion Criteria: * Hereditary colorectal cancer syndromes (identified through genetic testing). * Inflammatory bowel diseases. * Lack of written informed consent.
