What to expect

No one can promise a trial will help you personally — that is what the research is trying to find out.

What participation involves

Not stated in the study description — ask the study team about visits and procedures.

Compensation
Not stated
  • Study-related exams and procedures are typically provided at no cost. This is how many trials work in general — confirm the details for this study with the study team.
  • Participants are monitored closely by the research team throughout the study.
  • Some participants may receive access to an investigational treatment, which is still being studied.
  • Your participation helps researchers learn whether this approach could help future patients.

About this study

In plain language

This registry collects and studies data from MD Anderson patients whose cancer started in the lungs or spread there. It looks at treatment that destroys tumors near the outer edges of the lungs using a robot-assisted scope passed through the airways.

To aggregate, integrate, and analyze data facilitating the study of MD Anderson patients with a known diagnosis of lung cancer or metastases to the lungs who undergo robotic assisted bronchoscopic ablation of peripheral tumors.

Compensation is read from the study's own description and may be missing — always confirm with the study team.

Eligibility

Who can join

  • You have tumors near the outer edges of the lungs. The cancer may have started in the lungs or spread there.
  • Your tumors have been or will be destroyed using a robot-assisted scope passed through the airways.

Who can't join

  • Your planned tumor treatment using a scope through the airways was stopped because of technical problems and was not completed.

Simplified for readability. The official criteria below are what the study team uses.

Official eligibility criteria

Inclusion Criteria: Patients with peripheral lung tumors (primary or metastatic) that have been or will be ablated via robotic bronchoscopy. Exclusion Criteria: Patients with planned bronchoscopic ablations of peripheral lung tumors that were aborted for technical reasons (ablation was not completed).
