No one can promise a trial will help you personally — that is what the research is trying to find out.
What participation involves
Not stated in the study description — ask the study team about visits and procedures.
- Compensation
- Not stated
- Study-related exams and procedures are typically provided at no cost. This is how many trials work in general — confirm the details for this study with the study team.
- Participants are monitored closely by the research team throughout the study.

About this study
In plain language
This study compares symptoms people have when they stop using nicotine, called withdrawal. It is for people with schizophrenia who vape nicotine or smoke cigarettes daily. The findings may help develop ways to help people with schizophrenia quit vaping.
The proposed research will characterize withdrawal among people with schizophrenia who vape daily compared to people with schizophrenia who smoke combustible cigarettes daily, filling critical gaps in the understanding of electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS) dependence and contributing to the development of vaping cessation interventions amongst people with schizophrenia, the leading preventable cause of death in the US.
Compensation is read from the study's own description and may be missing — always confirm with the study team.
