What to expect

No one can promise a trial will help you personally — that is what the research is trying to find out.

What participation involves

  • Procedures mentioned: Biopsies

Only what the study's summary and detailed description on ClinicalTrials.gov say. Time periods may describe the whole study or a part of it — ask the study team what applies to you.

Show the study's own words
  • "This study aims to develop a non-invasive liquid biopsy assay using plasma-derived cell-free circular RNAs (cf-circRNAs) for early and accurate detection of colorectal cancer."
Compensation
Not stated
  • Study-related exams and procedures are typically provided at no cost. This is how many trials work in general — confirm the details for this study with the study team.
  • Participants are monitored closely by the research team throughout the study.
  • Some participants may receive access to an investigational treatment, which is still being studied.
  • Your participation helps researchers learn whether this approach could help future patients.

About this study

In plain language

This study aims to develop a blood test to find colorectal cancer (cancer of the colon or rectum) early. The test looks for tiny rings of genetic material called circular RNA in blood plasma, the liquid part of blood. It is for adults with stage I–III colorectal cancer.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. This study aims to develop a non-invasive liquid biopsy assay using plasma-derived cell-free circular RNAs (cf-circRNAs) for early and accurate detection of colorectal cancer.

Compensation is read from the study's own description and may be missing — always confirm with the study team.

Eligibility

Who can join

  • Age 18 or older.
  • Have stage I–III colorectal cancer confirmed by testing a tissue sample.
  • Have blood plasma samples collected before treatment available for testing.
  • Have given written consent to join the study.

Who can't join

  • Have had another active cancer within the past 5 years.
  • Have a poor-quality blood sample or one with broken red blood cells.
  • Cannot give informed consent, which means understanding and agreeing to join the study.

Simplified for readability. The official criteria below are what the study team uses.

Official eligibility criteria

Inclusion Criteria: * Adults (≥18 years old) * Histologically confirmed colorectal cancer (Stage I-III) * Availability of pre-treatment plasma samples * Written informed consent provided Exclusion Criteria: * History of other active malignancies within the past 5 years * Poor sample quality or hemolysis * Inability to provide informed consent
