What to expect
No one can promise a trial will help you personally — that is what the research is trying to find out.
What participation involves
Not stated in the study description — ask the study team about visits and procedures.
- Compensation
- Not stated
- Study-related exams and procedures are typically provided at no cost. This is how many trials work in general — confirm the details for this study with the study team.
- Participants are monitored closely by the research team throughout the study.
- Some participants may receive access to an investigational treatment, which is still being studied.
- Your participation helps researchers learn whether this approach could help future patients.
About this study
In plain language
This study is developing a home blood test that measures p-tau217, a protein linked to Alzheimer's disease. It compares blood collected with the Tasso device to blood drawn from a vein in people with and without Alzheimer's disease.
This study compares p-tau217 concentrations in blood collected via the Tasso device versus standard venipuncture in subjects with and without Alzheimer's disease, including a subset with confirmed amyloid pathology.
Compensation is read from the study's own description and may be missing — always confirm with the study team.
Eligibility
Who can join
- You are 40 to 90 years old.
- You have Alzheimer's disease confirmed by a brain scan or spinal fluid test for amyloid, a protein that builds up in the brain; are a healthy volunteer; or have memory or thinking problems not caused by Alzheimer's and test negative for amyloid.
- You can give blood using both the Tasso device and a needle in a vein.
- A caregiver can give consent or help if needed.
Who can't join
- You have health conditions affecting your body that are not under control.
- You had surgery or stayed in a hospital in the past 3 months.
- You took part in another dementia drug trial in the past 2 months.
- You are pregnant.
- You have ever used donanemab or lecanemab, medicines for Alzheimer's disease.
Simplified for readability. The official criteria below are what the study team uses.
