What to expect
No one can promise a trial will help you personally — that is what the research is trying to find out.
What participation involves
Not stated in the study description — ask the study team about visits and procedures.
- Compensation
- Not stated
- Study-related exams and procedures are typically provided at no cost. This is how many trials work in general — confirm the details for this study with the study team.
- Participants are monitored closely by the research team throughout the study.

About this study
In plain language
This small study tests a program that combines help with managing asthma and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), a type of talk therapy. It is for adults age 60 or older with asthma that is not well controlled and depression, and will look at whether the program is practical and may help both conditions.
Depressive disorders are highly prevalent among older adults with asthma and are associated with poor asthma outcomes. The overall objective of this study is to integrate an asthma self-management support program that the research team previously developed with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for adherence and depression for older adults with uncontrolled asthma and a comorbid depressive disorder. The research team will conduct a pilot randomized controlled trial to assess the feasibility and preliminary impact of the intervention on asthma and depression outcomes.
Compensation is read from the study's own description and may be missing — always confirm with the study team.
