What to expect
No one can promise a trial will help you personally — that is what the research is trying to find out.
What participation involves
Not stated in the study description — ask the study team about visits and procedures.
- Compensation
- Not stated
- Study-related exams and procedures are typically provided at no cost. This is how many trials work in general — confirm the details for this study with the study team.
- Participants are monitored closely by the research team throughout the study.
- Some participants may receive access to an investigational treatment, which is still being studied.
- Your participation helps researchers learn whether this approach could help future patients.
About this study
In plain language
This study tests whether frailty checks, which measure weakness and physical fitness, can predict how older adults will do after cancer treatment. It is for people age 60 or older with certain blood cancers or related conditions who may receive chemotherapy, CAR T-cell therapy, or a stem cell transplant from a donor.
The purpose of this research study is to determine if frailty assessments can be used to predict how well patients aged 60 years and older will do after chemotherapy, CAR T-cell therapy, or allogeneic stem cell transplant.
Compensation is read from the study's own description and may be missing — always confirm with the study team.
Eligibility
Who can join
- Both groups: Age 60 or older.
- Both groups: Able to agree to join the study.
- Group A: A new or suspected diagnosis of acute leukemia (a fast-growing blood cancer) or MDS (a condition where bone marrow makes abnormal blood cells).
- Group B: Have a blood cancer.
- Group B: Plan to have a blood or bone marrow stem cell transplant from a donor, or CAR T-cell therapy (treatment that changes your immune cells to fight cancer).
Who can't join
