About this study
In plain language
This study looks at how early life experiences, living conditions, nutrition, and breastfeeding relate to health in children with sickle cell disease, an inherited blood disorder. It also looks at ways to help children cope with stress and build healthy habits. It is for mothers of babies with sickle cell disease who live in or near Birmingham, Alabama.
This study is being conducted to determine the relationship between early childhood exposures, such as Adverse Childhood Experiences, Social Determinants of Health and nutrition/breastfeeding, among children with sickle cell disease, and behavioral interventions aimed to reshape psychological resilience and lifestyle factors towards positive health outcomes.
Compensation is read from the study's own description and may be missing — always confirm with the study team.
