About this study
In plain language
This study tests whether an 8-week program to help older adults connect with others is practical and can reduce depression. It is for older adults leaving Adult Protective Services (APS) after elder abuse or self-neglect, which means not meeting their own basic needs. College students in health-related programs also take part by making weekly calls.
The purpose of this study is to ascertain the feasibility and effectiveness of an 8-week social engagement program aimed at reducing depression and increasing social engagement among seniors who are transitioning out of Adult Protective Services (APS) for either elder abuse or self-neglect.
Compensation is read from the study's own description and may be missing — always confirm with the study team.
