What to expect
No one can promise a trial will help you personally — that is what the research is trying to find out.
What participation involves
Not stated in the study description — ask the study team about visits and procedures.
- Compensation
- Not stated
- Study-related exams and procedures are typically provided at no cost. This is how many trials work in general — confirm the details for this study with the study team.
- Participants are monitored closely by the research team throughout the study.
- Some participants may receive access to an investigational treatment, which is still being studied.
- Your participation helps researchers learn whether this approach could help future patients.
About this study
In plain language
This study looks back at how well the Hydrus Microstent and OMNI Surgical System work when used with cataract surgery. It uses records from people with glaucoma, a disease that damages the eye’s main nerve, who had these procedures and at least 3 years of follow-up care.
Real-World efficacy of Hydrus Microstent with OMNI Surgical System in combination with Phacoemulsification: a retrospective analysis
Compensation is read from the study's own description and may be missing — always confirm with the study team.
Eligibility
Who can join
- Have glaucoma.
- Had cataract surgery with a lens implant, OMNI, and Hydrus, chosen because they used more than one medicine before surgery.
- Have at least 3 years of follow-up records.
Who can't join
- Have angle-closure glaucoma, where the eye’s drainage angle is blocked.
- Have glaucoma caused by new blood vessels in the drainage angle, eye inflammation, or problems present at birth.
- Have swelling in the center of the retina, the light-sensing layer of the eye, that does not respond to treatment or lasts at least 3 months after surgery.
- Have missing records after surgery for eye pressure, medicine use, or visual field tests, which check the area you can see.
- Had earlier eye surgery that involved a cut or minimally invasive glaucoma surgery.
Simplified for readability. The official criteria below are what the study team uses.
Official eligibility criteria
Inclusion Criteria: * Subjects with h/o CEIOL/OMNI/Hydrus (chosen based on subjects on more than 1 medication pre-operatively) with at least 3 years of follow up data * have Glaucoma Exclusion Criteria: * Patients with angle closure glaucoma or secondary forms of glaucoma due to neovascularization of the angle, uveitic glaucoma, congenital glaucoma, or glaucoma due to congenital anomalies. * Patients with refractory CME or CME persisting 3 months or more post-operatively * Patients with incomplete IOP, medication logs or VF data within post-operative period * Prior incisional surgery or MIGS
