What to expect
No one can promise a trial will help you personally — that is what the research is trying to find out.
What participation involves
Not stated in the study description — ask the study team about visits and procedures.
- Compensation
- Not stated
- Study-related exams and procedures are typically provided at no cost. This is how many trials work in general — confirm the details for this study with the study team.
- Participants are monitored closely by the research team throughout the study.

- Your participation helps researchers learn whether this approach could help future patients.
About this study
In plain language
This study tests whether an app-based mental health program is practical to use for teens ages 14–18 who hurt themselves without trying to die and are not in mental health treatment. It compares a self-guided program with mental health learning materials in the same app. The results will help plan a larger study.
This is a feasibility trial of a digital mental health intervention aimed at adolescents (ages 14-18) with nonsuicidal self-injury and who are not currently engaged in mental health treatment. The study has two arms: a self-guided DMHI and an active control which will involve the delivery of non-interactive psychoeducational content via the same app interface. The primary goals of this project are to evaluate the feasibility of the intervention and trial procedures in preparation for a fully-powered randomized-controlled trial.
Compensation is read from the study's own description and may be missing — always confirm with the study team.
