What to expect
No one can promise a trial will help you personally — that is what the research is trying to find out.
What participation involves
- Time periods mentioned: 6 months
Only what the study's summary and detailed description on ClinicalTrials.gov say. Time periods may describe the whole study or a part of it — ask the study team what applies to you.

- "Participants will be randomized using a 2 × 2 × 2 factorial design and followed for six months."
- Compensation
- Not stated
- Study-related exams and procedures are typically provided at no cost. This is how many trials work in general — confirm the details for this study with the study team.
- Participants are monitored closely by the research team throughout the study.
- Some participants may receive access to an investigational treatment, which is still being studied.
- Your participation helps researchers learn whether this approach could help future patients.
About this study
In plain language
This study tests a program to help adults keep weight off after stopping GLP-1 or other weight loss medicines. It includes a 10-week core program and tests added support: meals tailored to medical needs, a YMCA membership, and a mind-based program. The study lasts 6 months and is for adults who lost at least 15% of their starting weight with weight loss medicine.
This study is a single-site, pilot randomized factorial trial designed to evaluate the feasibility, acceptability, participant perceptions and preliminary effects of a multi-component behavioral intervention to support weight loss maintenance following discontinuation of GLP-1 and other anti-obesity medications. The intervention includes a standardized 10-week foundational weight loss maintenance program combined with candidate support components, including medically tailored meals, YMCA membership, and a structured mind-based program. Participants will be randomized using a 2 × 2 × 2 factorial design and followed for six months. Findings from this pilot study will inform optimization of a scalable intervention for future clinical trials.
Compensation is read from the study's own description and may be missing — always confirm with the study team.

- Have lost at least 15% of your starting weight using weight loss medicine.
- Have stopped weight loss medicine within the past 4 weeks, or plan to stop before being assigned to a study group.
- Have gained back no more than 3 kilograms (about 6.6 pounds) in the past 3 months.
- Be willing and able to join the 6-month program, including the 10-week core program.
- Be willing to complete study checks at the start, 3 months, and 6 months, including required in-person visits.
- Have medical approval for moderate exercise, diet changes, and mind-based practices.
- Have reliable internet for online sessions and data collection, and enough English skills to complete study tasks.
Who can't join
- Have a health condition that makes exercise, diet changes, or mind-based practices unsafe, such as uncontrolled high blood pressure or seizures not managed with medical care.
- Have a current mental health condition that affects safety or participation, such as untreated major depression, a substance use disorder, or loss of touch with reality.
- Be pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant during the study.
- Be in another structured program to lose weight or keep weight off.
- Keep using weight loss medicine after being assigned to a study group.

Official eligibility criteria
Inclusion Criteria: * Age 18 years or older * Loss of ≥15% of initial body weight using anti-obesity medication * Discontinued anti-obesity medication within the past 4 weeks or planning to discontinue prior to randomization * ≤3 kg weight regain within the past 3 months * Willing and able to participate in a 6-month behavioral intervention, including a 10-week foundational program * Willing to complete study assessments at baseline, 3 months, and 6 months, including required in-person visits * Medical clearance for participation in moderate physical activity, dietary modification, and mind-based practices * Access to reliable internet for participation in virtual sessions and remote data collection * English fluency sufficient to complete study procedures * Able to provide informed consent Exclusion Criteria: * Medical conditions that would preclude safe participation in physical activity, dietary changes, or mind-based practices (e.g., unstable cardiovascular disease, uncontrolled hypertension, severe orthopedic limitations, or seizure disorders not medically managed) * Active psychiatric conditions that would interfere with participation or safety (e.g., untreated major depression, active substance use disorder, or psychosis) * Pregnancy, breastfeeding, or plans to become pregnant during the study period * Current participation in another structured weight loss or weight maintenance program * Continued use of anti-obesity medication after randomization * Plans to initiate medications or treatments that may significantly affect body weight during the study period * Inability to attend required study visits or participate in virtual sessions and remote data collection * Any condition that, in the opinion of the investigators, would compromise participant safety or study integrity
