What to expect

No one can promise a trial will help you personally — that is what the research is trying to find out.

What participation involves

Not stated in the study description — ask the study team about visits and procedures.

Compensation
Not stated
  • Study-related exams and procedures are typically provided at no cost. This is how many trials work in general — confirm the details for this study with the study team.
  • Participants are monitored closely by the research team throughout the study.
  • Some participants may receive access to an investigational treatment, which is still being studied.
  • Your participation helps researchers learn whether this approach could help future patients.

About this study

In plain language

This study tests how well LAM-001 works and how safe it is compared with a placebo, a treatment with no active drug. It is for adults with high blood pressure in the lungs linked to interstitial lung disease, which damages or scars lung tissue.

A Phase 2, Randomized, Double-Blind, Multi-Dose, Placebo-Controlled Study to Evaluate the Efficacy and Safety of LAM-001 in Adults with Pulmonary Hypertension Associated with Interstitial Lung Disease (PH-ILD).

Compensation is read from the study's own description and may be missing — always confirm with the study team.

Eligibility

Who can join

  • Be age 18–85. People over 70 need approval from the study’s medical monitor.
  • Have a qualifying type of lung disease with high blood pressure in the lungs, confirmed by scans, breathing tests, and blood pressure tests.
  • Meet the study’s breathing test limits. Extra limits apply to people whose lung disease is linked to a connective tissue disease.
  • Have lung blood pressure symptoms that limit physical activity at a mild or marked level, called WHO class II or III.
  • Walk at least 100 meters in 6 minutes on two tests. The distances must be within 15% of each other.
  • If taking medicines for lung blood pressure, have the same treatment plan for 180 days and the same dose for 90 days. Similar rules apply to lung disease medicines for people with connective tissue disease.
  • Follow pregnancy testing and birth control rules. People who can become pregnant must avoid breastfeeding and blood or egg donation; men must use condoms as directed and avoid sperm donation. Rules extend through 90 days after treatment.
  • Be able to follow study instructions, attend visits, and give written consent.

Who can't join

  • Have moderate or severe emphysema, certain dust-related or other scarring lung diseases, lung blood pressure caused by old blood clots, or untreated sleep apnea that is more than moderate.
  • Have certain serious heart problems, very high or low blood pressure, a recent stroke, or be unable to safely have a right-heart catheter test, which measures pressure in the heart and lungs.
  • Have certain abnormal liver or kidney tests, recent serious infections, or a severe allergy to certain proteins or lactose ingredients in the study drug.
  • Have smoked, vaped, used e-cigarettes, or taken sirolimus or a similar drug within 90 days. Recent IV medicines to support heart function or certain steroid doses or dose changes also rule out joining.
  • Have started a heart or lung exercise rehab program within 90 days, or plan to start during the study. A stable maintenance program is allowed.
  • Have had major surgery within 8 weeks, have not fully recovered from surgery, or have had a heart or heart-lung transplant.
  • Be pregnant or breastfeeding, have an expected lifespan under 12 months, or have another serious illness that could limit participation.
  • Have had active cancer within 2 years, with some exceptions for treated skin or cervical cancers and certain low-grade cancers.

Simplified for readability. The official criteria below are what the study team uses.
