A Clinical Study of MK-2870 Alone or With Other Treatments to Treat Gastrointestinal Cancers (MK-9999-02A)
A Phase 1/2 Study to Evaluate the Safety and Efficacy of MK-2870 Monotherapy or in Combination With Other Anticancer Agents in Gastrointestinal Cancers

What to expect
No one can promise a trial will help you personally — that is what the research is trying to find out.
What participation involves
Not stated in the study description — ask the study team about visits and procedures.
- Compensation
- Not stated
- Study-related exams and procedures are typically provided at no cost. This is how many trials work in general — confirm the details for this study with the study team.
- Participants are monitored closely by the research team throughout the study.
- Some participants may receive access to an investigational treatment, which is still being studied.
- Your participation helps researchers learn whether this approach could help future patients.
About this study
In plain language
This study tests sacituzumab tirumotecan (MK-2870), alone or with other treatments, for certain cancers of the digestive system that have spread or cannot be removed with surgery. Researchers want to see how safe the treatment is, how well people handle it, and whether it shrinks or clears the cancer.
Researchers want to learn if sacituzumab tirumotecan (MK-2870) alone or with other treatments can treat certain gastrointestinal (GI) cancers. The GI cancers being studied are either advanced (the cancer has spread to other parts of the body), or unresectable (the cancer cannot be removed with surgery). The goals of this study are to learn: * About the safety of sacituzumab tirumotecan alone or with other treatments and if people tolerate it * How many people have the cancer respond (get smaller or go away) to treatment
Compensation is read from the study's own description and may be missing — always confirm with the study team.
Eligibility
Who can join
- You must have one of the cancers listed below, with the treatment history described.
- Colorectal cancer (in the colon or rectum) that has spread or cannot be removed with surgery, with past treatment for the cancer.
- Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (a type of pancreas cancer) that is advanced or has spread, with past treatment for the cancer.
- Biliary tract cancer (cancer in the bile system) that is advanced or cannot be removed with surgery, with or without past treatment for the cancer.
- If you had past cancer treatment, you must have recovered from its side effects.
Who can't join
- You have a history of severe eye disease.
- You received cancer drugs that work throughout the body, including experimental drugs, within 4 weeks before starting study treatment.
- You had lung inflammation or scarring not caused by infection that needed steroid treatment.
- You currently have lung inflammation or scarring, or screening tests cannot rule it out.
Simplified for readability. The official criteria below are what the study team uses.
Official eligibility criteria
Inclusion Criteria: The main inclusion criteria include but are not limited to the following: * Has one of the following cancers: * Unresectable or metastatic colorectal cancer and has received prior therapy for the cancer * Advanced or metastatic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) and has received prior therapy for the cancer * Advanced and/or unresectable biliary tract cancer (BTC) and has received prior therapy for the cancer * Advanced and/or unresectable BTC and has not received prior therapy for the cancer * For participants who have received prior therapy for cancer: Has recovered from any side effects due to previous cancer treatment Exclusion Criteria: The main exclusion criteria include but are not limited to the following: * History of severe eye disease * For participants who have received prior therapy for cancer: Received prior systemic anticancer therapy including investigational agents within 4 weeks before starting study intervention * History of (noninfectious) pneumonitis/interstitial lung disease (ILD) that required steroids, has current pneumonitis/ILD, or has suspected ILD or pneumonitis that cannot be ruled out by standard diagnostic assessments at Screening
