What to expect

No one can promise a trial will help you personally — that is what the research is trying to find out.

What participation involves

  • Procedures mentioned: Infusions, Injections

Only what the study's summary and detailed description on ClinicalTrials.gov say. Time periods may describe the whole study or a part of it — ask the study team what applies to you.

Show the study's own words
  • "This is a Phase 1 dose escalation (and expansion) study with VET3-TGI administered by direct injection into tumor(s) or by intravenous infusion."
Compensation
Not stated
  • Study-related exams and procedures are typically provided at no cost. This is how many trials work in general — confirm the details for this study with the study team.
  • Participants are monitored closely by the research team throughout the study.
  • Some participants may receive access to an investigational treatment, which is still being studied.
  • Your participation helps researchers learn whether this approach could help future patients.

About this study

In plain language

This study tests VET3-TGI, a cancer treatment not yet given to people, in patients with advanced solid tumors. It aims to find a safe and effective dose given directly into tumors or into a vein, either alone or with atezolizumab.

VET3-TGI is an oncolytic immunotherapy designed to treat advanced cancers. VET3-TGI has not been given to human patients yet, and the current study is designed to find a safe and effective dose of VET3-TGI when administered by direct injection into tumor(s) (called an intratumoral injection) or when given intravenously (into the vein) both alone and in combination with atezolizumab in patients with solid tumors (STEALTH-001).

Compensation is read from the study's own description and may be missing — always confirm with the study team.

Eligibility

Who can join

  • Have a solid tumor confirmed by lab testing that is advanced, cannot be removed by surgery, or has spread.
  • Treatments that might cure the cancer did not work, caused side effects you could not tolerate, or were refused.
  • Have cancer that can be measured using the study’s rules.
  • Have at least one tumor that can safely be injected or have a tissue sample taken.
  • Be fully active or able to do light work despite limits on hard physical activity.
  • Have organs that work well enough for the study.
  • Be willing to follow all study steps and care instructions after treatment.
  • Other entry rules also apply.

Who can't join

  • Have not waited long enough after earlier cancer treatment; the wait depends on the treatment.
  • Need medicines that prevent blood clots and cannot safely stop them for tumor injections or tissue samples.
  • Have cancer in the brain, spinal cord, or their lining that has not been fully removed by surgery or fully treated with radiation.
  • Have ever had inflammation of the heart muscle.
  • Have known HIV/AIDS or an active hepatitis B or C infection.
  • Take high doses of medicines that weaken the immune system, or have a seriously weakened immune system.
  • Other rules may also prevent you from joining.

Simplified for readability. The official criteria below are what the study team uses.

Official eligibility criteria

Key Inclusion Criteria: * Have pathologically confirmed, advanced, unresectable, or metastatic solid tumors. Preferred indications include, but are not limited to, breast carcinoma, bladder carcinoma, cervical squamous carcinoma, colorectal carcinoma, esophageal carcinoma, head and neck squamous carcinoma, renal cell carcinoma, ovarian carcinoma, sarcoma, thymoma, and uterine carcinoma. * Failed, intolerant to, or refused potentially curative treatment options, including but not limited to, standard of care molecularly targeted agents, immunotherapy (e.g., anti -pembrolizumab/PDL1 antibodies), and chemotherapy * Measurable disease as per RECIST 1.1 criteria * At least one tumor amenable to safe ITu injections and/or biopsies * ECOG performance status 0 or 1 * Demonstrate adequate organ function * Must be willing to comply with all protocol procedures and adhere to post-treatment care instructions Additional Inclusion criteria exist Key Exclusion Criteria: * Prior systemic therapy washout (dependent upon the therapy) * Requires use of anti-platelet or anti-coagulant therapy that cannot be safely suspended for per protocol biopsies or intra-tumoral injections. * CNS metastases and/or carcinomatous meningitis that have not been completely resected or completely irradiated. * Prior history of myocarditis * Known HIV/AIDS, active HBV or HCV infection. * Receiving high dose immunosuppressive medication or has a significant immunodeficiency (e.g. transplant recipient, etc). Additional Exclusion criteria exist
