What to expect
No one can promise a trial will help you personally — that is what the research is trying to find out.
What participation involves
- Time periods mentioned: 3 months
Only what the study's summary and detailed description on ClinicalTrials.gov say. Time periods may describe the whole study or a part of it — ask the study team what applies to you.
Show the study's own words
- "Participants will be adolescents with depression who will receive their assigned intervention for 3 months and be followed for 3 additional months."
- Compensation
- Not stated
- Study-related exams and procedures are typically provided at no cost. This is how many trials work in general — confirm the details for this study with the study team.
- Participants are monitored closely by the research team throughout the study.
- Some participants may receive access to an investigational treatment, which is still being studied.
- Your participation helps researchers learn whether this approach could help future patients.
About this study
In plain language
This study compares a yoga program with group talk therapy that helps teens change unhelpful thoughts and behaviors. It is for teens ages 12–18 with depression symptoms in Columbus, Ohio, and Boston, Massachusetts. Researchers want to see if the programs are practical to run and whether teens are satisfied with them.
In this study, we will conduct a pilot RCT of a yoga-based intervention (YBI) vs. group cognitive-behavioral therapy (gCBT) at two sites. We will recruit 48 adolescent participants each in Columbus, OH and Boston, MA (96 total). We have a priori targets for indices of feasibility and acceptability, including recruitment rate, retention for assessments, class attendance, interventionist fidelity to manuals, and participant satisfaction. We hypothesize that we will meet these metrics at both sites.
Compensation is read from the study's own description and may be missing — always confirm with the study team.
