No one can promise a trial will help you personally — that is what the research is trying to find out.
What participation involves
Not stated in the study description — ask the study team about visits and procedures.
- Compensation
- Not stated
- Study-related exams and procedures are typically provided at no cost. This is how many trials work in general — confirm the details for this study with the study team.
- Participants are monitored closely by the research team throughout the study.
- Some participants may receive access to an investigational treatment, which is still being studied.

About this study
In plain language
This study tests how well ZOLADEX 10.8 mg, given as a shot under the skin, lowers ovary activity by measuring a hormone called LH. It is for women ages 18 to 55 who have not gone through menopause and have early-stage or advanced breast cancer that responds to hormones.
The primary objective of this trial is to evaluate ovarian suppression following treatment with ZOLADEX 10.8 mg by luteinizing hormone (LH) within each cohort.
Compensation is read from the study's own description and may be missing — always confirm with the study team.
Eligibility
Who can join
- Be female, age 18 to 55, and not yet through menopause.
- Have breast cancer that tests positive for estrogen or progesterone receptors, meaning hormones can help it grow.
- Have stage I, II, or III invasive breast cancer confirmed at surgery, or advanced cancer that cannot be cured with surgery or radiation.
- Be able to care for yourself and be out of bed or a chair for at least half of your waking hours.
- Past chemotherapy or radiation is allowed. Most side effects must be mild or gone. Hair loss is allowed; moderate nerve damage or tingling after chemotherapy is also allowed.
- Some cancer treatments and bone-strengthening drugs are allowed. Rules for past hormone treatment depend on the study group; prior ovary-suppressing treatment requires proof of premenopausal status before treatment, within 6 months before enrollment.
- Have negative pregnancy tests. Either avoid sex from at least 28 days before the first dose, or use two highly effective nonhormonal birth control methods, including a condom or diaphragm, starting at screening or 2 weeks before dosing, whichever is earlier. Continue through 12 weeks after the last dose.
- Understand and agree to join the study, and be able to follow its rules.
Who can't join
- Have gone through menopause, had both ovaries removed, or had radiation to the ovaries; or have a body mass index (BMI) below 18 or above 35.
- Use tamoxifen or similar drugs called SERMs during the study. These must be stopped before enrollment.
- Have an allergy or unusual reaction to goserelin, related hormone drugs, or any study drug ingredient.
- Be expected to live less than 6 months, or need substantial help with daily care and spend most waking hours in bed or a chair.
- Have life-threatening cancer spread to organs or brain-related symptoms. Some stable or treated brain cancer spread and some lung cancer spread are allowed under specific safety rules.
- Have liver or kidney test results outside study limits, or low red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, or infection-fighting cells called neutrophils.
- Have had another active cancer in the past 3 years, except certain treated skin cancers or very early cervical cancer.
- Have a serious or uncontrolled health condition that could prevent following study rules, or have used an experimental drug or device within 30 days before enrollment.
Simplified for readability. The official criteria below are what the study team uses.
